STEAM- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math

Mondays: Science in preschool is all about facilitating curiosity and finding the resources already at one’s fingertips. Children will explore their surroundings, and how they can bring science alive in this environment.

Tuesdays: Technology includes more than just computers or mobile devices. Children will use what’s already in the classroom to discuss how techno;ogy is used, why it’s important, and to deepen children’s thinking about the problems it solves.

Wednesdays: Engineering is reinventing what is already present in a way that solves real problems. Children will build, innovate, change, and mold objects or materials in the classroom.

Thursdays: Art is all about the creative expression of science and math. Science and math can be fun, creative, and exciting. Children will use their individual artistic expression during this STEAM activity.

Fridays: Math is the universal language to STEAM, and a critical aspect of a high-quality early education program. By “mathematizing” real life situations. Children will improve their language, numeracy, and also their critical thinking skills. Children will explore this STEAM activity with cooking.

OCTOBER, 2023- NEWSLETTER/ CURRICULUM CALENDAR

This month’s curriculum is: Literacy: Books and Puppet stories,

Social Studies: My safe world, Color: Orange, Shape: Circle, Music: Finger plays, Science: Five senses, Math: shapes, Language: over and under, Health: Hand washing, Tooth brushing, Cover mouth and nose. Character: Sharing.

INSURANCE: Yearly $40 insurance payment is due by October 15^th.

OCTOBER 9- SCHOOL CLOSED- Indigenous Peoples’ Day

OCTOBER 13- Orange Day. Everyone wear the color orange

OCTOBER 19- Great California Shake Out 10:19 a.m.

OCTOBER 31- HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION: Children may wear costumes that do not interfere with their movement. Each child should wear a positive character. No overtly scary costumes, so that every child can have a positive Halloween. No weapons or hand-held parts. Shoes must be worn. Pizza Fun Lunch. Please
